When I was young my pops played chess, had a chess computer and looked a little bit like this.
No seriously he had a cool chess computer in like 1979.
I was fortunate to be playing with others my age throughout elementary and high school. During my teenage years I thought I was pretty darn good so I dropped into the chess club at a local University. It was a quick lesson on the limitation of my game. But being a few years younger than most and not having anyone offer a few friendly tips I decided to stay away.
The Chess Club at the Bean Scene was started as an opening to the game for beginners and those looking to improve. Open to all with an emphasis on everyone getting better. Come join us Sunday afternoons to what the game is all about. We promise no pipe smoke.
